The question arises every day from one individual or another, “Is soy good or bad?” Many will tell you yes, while others will tell you no. Has it every crossed your mind? Honestly? Why would it when you read in numerous magazine articles or see on television shows or commercials that soy is healthy and can create a better and healthier lifestyle for you. They make it seem as if soy is the next best thing to consume!
The truth is there are risk and dangers associated with soy. One should be aware of all of these dangers prior to the consumption of soy in order to make an informed decision on whether or not soy is truly dangerous. This article will shed some light on the true dangers of soy so that you can see for yourself that soy can be a scary place to delve into!
First off, soy can heavily affect your thyroid. There are many different food products that can affect your thyroid but soy is at the top of the list. When your thyroid is unable to function properly, weight gain is caused. Your moods are much harder to control. Concentration as well as your memory becomes a problem. Fatigue sets in much more easily. The effects of soy on your thyroid are inevitable, can go on for eternity, and are simply not something that you want to deal with in the future.
The consumption of soy can also heavily affect a digestive enzyme known as trypsin. This enzyme is used to digest protein properly within the body. Without the correct amount of this enzyme working to digest protein properly within the body, you can experience serious digestive problems from diarrhea to bleeding. This can also lead to pancreas problems, which could result in surgery or possibly worse.
Finally, soy is very high in estrogens. The consumption of soy is absolutely dangerous for our bodies. Think about it…what is the cause of many of the common cancers and other developed problems today? Specifically, infertility, breast cancer, endometriosis – just to name a few – are all effects from an abundant amount of estrogen within the human body.
